I would highly recommend this course!
The UX/UI course, recently taught by Miriam Isaac, was keystone in demonstrating to me the importance of the depth of knowledge that goes into product, website and application design. Miriam, is very knowledgeable on the subject matter with many years of experience in the industry. As a teacher she exemplified great command over the topic while being approachable and personable, which helped me adapt my current skill set to this new type of design. I would highly recommend this course to anyone looking to begin to understand and incorporate the integral skills and techniques of UX/ UI to their current skill set or career.

UX/UI provides that exciting blend of the right and left sides of the brain, allowing for both creativity and analytical skills.
It's really exciting to see live prototypes built out on the screen, after hours of research, analysis and design.

As with other tech fields, UX/UI can provide excellent flexibility. I’ve been working remotely for a Lakewood-based company. I now live in Israel, yet my job comes with me - in my own language, flexible time-wise, and I can take on private clients when I want to.
Tzivi Ismach
Before I took the UI/UX course, I was passionate about User Centered Design and its ability to make an impact, but had no idea how to do it. After taking the course, I have an in-depth understanding of the UX process and can confidently run a project from initial discovery to final developer handoff, with everything in between.
Thank you Miriam and Chaya for this fabulous experience.

You're a critical thinker --
of course you have questions!

The simplest way to understand is this: UI is interior design and UX is architecture. UI focuses on aesthetics, the fonts, the colors, and the shape of the buttons. Whereas UX is the infrastructure. It’s a combination of design theory, user behavior, psychology, and marketing
We don't waste our time getting lost in learning all the nitty-gritty of too many platforms, because: a) They are pretty similar to one another b) We trust that you're smart enough to learn the platforms on your own as you go along c) As time goes on there are always new tools on the market and updates to existing platforms, as long as you have the fundamental UX/UI principles and processes then you can apply these as the market changes.
There are two tracks you can choose from. You can take the live track, which means joining the Sunday class live and watching the pre-recorded class during the week. If occasionally you can’t make it on Sunday, that’s fine—we’ll record the class and post the replay. If you know it will be hard for you to attend live on Sundays, you can choose the recording track. In this option, you watch the Sunday replay together with the Wednesday class, upload your work by Motzaei Shabbos, and then receive a personalized video feedback clip on Tuesday night.
If you’re a a detail-oriented problem-solver as well as a creative thinker, then this career path may well be right up your street. UX/UI projects are generally much longer than a quick flyer or business card so if you enjoy strategic thinking, research and trial and error, then this could be the path for you.
Ideally, yes. In a perfect world, it’s best to complete the full Flagship Graphic Design Course first, so you can fully focus on it, build a strong design foundation, and then move on to the UX/UI course. This approach keeps things simple and gives you the clearest path forward. However, if you haven’t completed the Graphic Design course yet—or even if you haven’t started it—but you want to join the UX/UI course, you absolutely can. In fact, we encourage you to sign up as soon as possible. Once you do, we’ll: Give you access to the Graphic Design course right away: • Set you up with a mentor • Send you a list of the 12 essential lessons that must be completed before the User Interface (UI) unit, which begins around Chanukah • It is possible to complete the Graphic Design prerequisites while starting the UX/UI course, especially if you’re motivated and can manage the pace. That said, it can be a bit intense for some, so we strongly recommend getting those 12 lessons done as early as possible. There are students who take both courses side by side—just know your learning style and choose the path that’s right for you!
You're right, if you're only building the simplest of websites, then yes, you probably have enough common sense to create something good. But as soon as a website becomes a little more complex, building it without the proper UX process, can quite simply become a horrible mess. It’s a bit like building a house without plans, without a blueprint. You'll end up with the bathroom outside and the light switches in all the wrong places. With a strong understanding of UX, your websites will actually do the job you set out to do. It won't just have pretty fonts, it'll be an easy-to-use, functional and smooth digital experience
Sometimes a designer wants to create a quick website without hiring an external programmer. Wordpress gives you the flexibility to create and design a website on your own, making use of preset themes.
Yes, we do. You can join the course on the recording and mentoring track. In this option, you’ll watch the Sunday replay together with the Wednesday class, upload your work by Motzaei Shabbos, and receive a personalized feedback clip on Tuesday night.
You need to have taken our Flagship Graphic Design course or the equivalent. Without a substantial background in graphic design you cannot take this course. If you aren’t sure if you qualify, be in touch to discuss. The first two units don’t the graphic design background, so you can start both courses at the same time if needed. We recommend beginning the Graphic Design course first, if possible, to make the workload less intense.

Course Projects

  • App Design

You’ll apply the principles of UX/UI to website design — desktop, tablet and mobile. You also get foundational skills to create a basic e-commerce site, and you’ll have all these projects to show off in your portfolio.
